1099-Misc income on NJ State return

I use TaxCut software to prepare my taxes, and I just realized that the Nonemployee compensation from several Forms 1099-Misc did not show up anywhere on my New Jersey State return. Is there some reason why I don't need to report this income to the state?

My guess is that this is a bug in the program and that I need to report this income on line 25 as Other Income.

I would appreciate it if someone could confirm this for me.

Thanks!

Why 1099-Misc income not flowing to NJ State return?

First of all you are correct in stating that the 1099-Misc is separately reported on the NJ State tax return. This amount is reported on Line 25 of the NJ 1040 page 2.

I cannot determine why some of the 1099-Misc are excluded, but please ensure that you have properly coded all the 1099-Misc as being subject to S/E tax.

The tax program should be accumulating the total amount's reported as 1099-Misc and showing a Statement that details the individual 1099-Misc. I strongly suggest that you first contact the software company to try and resolve this difference.

If that does not work, buy another new tax software! Good Luck...
