1099-MISC question

Hello, I received a 1099-MISC for royalties received in 2008 in a state I no longer reside in (Iowa). I didn't receive a W-2 from an employer in Iowa. Do I need to file a state return with Iowa or will reporting the 1099-MISC income only on the federal return be ok?

Thanks.

So sorry for the double post. I was prompted to log in again and thought my submission didn't get posted.

If anyone out there knows where I might be able to find information related to my question please let me know.. I haven't had any luck online. Thanks!!

It all depends on how much royalties you received, personally, I am assuming it might be very small and you may not be required to file an Iowa State tax return. This may be the case especially if you do not have any other Iowa sourced earned income or other material income!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the royalties are very small and there is no other source of income from Iowa. Appreciate the help!

If that is the case, then I would definitely not worry about filing an Iowa State tax return!
