lived in Virginia but paid taxes to DC Hi ,
I need help with the 2015 tax filing . My work location was in D.C. I paid DC taxes but and I lived in Virginia entire 2015. I have already filed taxes through an agent . He prepared taxes for both DC and Virginia .Now it says that i owe money to Virginia because i dint pay taxed and i get refund from DC.
But he is confusing me about the next step now by giving different answers . Initially he told me to file D-40B to DC then DC will pay to Virginia and i don't need to send money to Virginia . Now he is asking me to pay Virginia taxes and then file D-40B to DC and i will get refund from DC.
Can i file D-40D frist and after getting the refund file send payment to Virginia.
Can you please help me understand what i need to do .
below is the exact summary they sent .
