Just today I went to do my taxes and noticed that the company I work for only paid $2,200 towards federal taxes for the entire year. Every check had the same amount taken from it with the exception of maybe 3. I am an hourly employee, not on a salary. Does this seem odd to anyone?=====>>Nobody knows you need to directly contact your ER and ask why. The amount of income tax your employer withholds from your regular pay depends on the amount you earn, and the information you give your employer on Form W?4. You must specify a filing status and a number of withholding allowances on Form W?4. You cannot specify only a dollar amount of withholding. Your employer will use information you provided on Form W-4 as well as the amount of your taxable income and how frequently you are paid in order to determine how much FITW to withhold from each paycheck.
If you earn more than usual during a pay period (such as work overtime or receive a bonus), the FITW will increase. If you earn less (such as work fewer hours or increase contributions to your 401k), the FITW will decrease.
How can they take the same amount almost every single check if my pay varies from week to week?==========>>
As said please contact the employer only he knows whay |
