HSA eligibility question Hello,
My wife is in a HDHP and contributes to HSA. I am not part of a HDHP through my employer and am adding our daughter to my plan. Can I contribute to FSA for my daughter and my expenses or would this preclude my wife from making contributions to HSA as it may be seen as other health coverage per publication 969? It seems confusing as my wife is the only one on the HDHP and would therefore at maximum be allowed the individual contribution to HSA of $3,400 instead of the family limit of $6,750 for 2017 so it seems reasonable that I should be able to contribute to FSA for me and my daughter as we are on a non-HDHP and wouldn't be double dipping, but the way I interpret pub 969 and Rev. Rul. 2004-45 is that because I "could" use FSA to reimburse for my wife's medical expenses she would no longer be an eligible individual. Is this correct?
Thank you in advance for your help.
