1099-R received twice for different years for same amt Hi,
During conversion of my previous employer 401k to IRA (in year 2013), they made a mistake and transferred $250.00 extra which they discovered in 2016.
So my previous employer got exception to not pay penalty from IRS and sent me the letter to take the money out from IRA account.
I took the excess amount out and received 1099-R for year 2013 for $250.
Filed the amendment for year 2013 and paid the taxes on $250.
But now i have received another form 1099-R for $250 with year on it as 2016.
Different between 1099-R received for $250 is
year 2013 1099-R has -- distribution code E and column 3,4,5,6,8,10 marked 0
year 2016 1099-R has - distribution code 1 and IRA/SEP/SIMPLE as 'X' and column 3,4,5,6,8,10 blank
Am i supposed to show year 2016 1099-R again in my income and pay tax on it in 2016 (which will be double taxation)?
I called the firm that manages my IRA but they suggesting check with Tax advisors. |
