No taxes were held. ======>basically, You must file a federal income tax return if your income is above a certain level; which varies depending on your filing status, age and the type of income you receive. Then since no taxes were w/h from your paychecks you do not need to file return UNLESS you file your return jointly with your spouse; Even if you don?t have to file, you may want to file if you Make Work Pay Credit ; You may qualify for EITC/ American Opportunity Credit or etc/
Husband is filing taxes from his earnings which is much more than mine. Plan on filing jointly. Our ages are 43 and 46.
Do I still need to file when all I earned was $10,842.98? =====.Yes aslognas you file your return as MFJ with your spouse; You and your spouse can file a joint federal income tax return even if you do not work. While each couple?s tax situation is different, generally, you can claim more deductions and credits by filing a joint return. In most cases, your tax liability will be lower. |
