Hi - I receive SSDI as I am currently receiving treatment for chronic illness. I am currently attending school (trying) and want to know if I have to inform SSDI if I decide to apply to FAFSA for a loan or grant. More importantly, if I am offered a temporary College Assistantship that is part time for 8 months do I need to inform SSDI of this financial assistantship? I live in NEW YORK.

SSDI is not reported anywhere on the FAFSA for anyone in the family.Also, for regular social security payments, Unless they are taxed, the untaxed portion is not reported either.
