Can I reimburse myself for interest expense from single member LLC? I have a single member LLC that I contributed $1k to initially. I subsequently "loaned" $100k and continue to fund it on an "as needed" basis maintaining the contributions as a "member loan" in my software. $50k of the original conribution came from personal credit cards that still carry a balance. Can I structure an agreement for the LLC to reimburse me for the actual credit card interest charged? Reimbursement will occur later, but it will be accrued as expenses owed to me. In doing this can I make the interest expense tax deductible?
The agreement would provide for reimbursement of actual interst expense up to a specific amount, for example, up to interest calculated on principal balance of $50k.
Is there a better way to handle it where I can deduct the interest expense but not have to claim interest income personally?
