Three partners, three countries, two states Three partners, three countries, two states

Hi,
We are wandering in ignorance, agonizing over things we know nothing about; consequently, we can't focus on our businesses.
There are three of us: One is an American citizen and permanent resident of Japan. Another is a Canadian citizen living in Vancouver. And the third is an American living in California.
1. We want to start two businesses.
2. One business will be strictly online.
3. The other business will not have a headquarters, but will have personnel operating throughout California.
4. We are close to forming two LLCs in Delaware.
5. How to pay taxes and to whom is giving us heartburn.
The Angst:
1. Are there benefits to registering in Delaware, or would we be better off just registering in California?
2. Do all three of us need to be registered owners of both companies? (Couldn't just one of us form two LLCs in California and list the other two as employees?)
3. How do we pay taxes with three countries and two states involved (ergo, the question about registering in California only).
4. If we register in Delaware, should be bank in Delaware?
Perhaps we have made this a bigger problem than it really is, but we want to set everything up correctly in the beginning.
Any help making this less complicated will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
