Do I need to report my 1099-R for my 2010 return?

Hi,

I left my last job on Dec 23, 2010. I had my 401k from that job rolled over to an IRA in January 2011. The 1099-R shows "Calendar Year 2011". Do I need to report this 1099-R with my 2010 return or wait until next year to report this in my 2011 return? Thanks in advance.

The form is mailed to recipients by January 31 of the year after the distribution was made. The Form reports all of the distributions you've taken from your 401k retirement accounts during the calendar year, 2010 whether or not those amounts are taxable.

Question Thanks

Thanks, but I report it even if the 1099 says "Calendar Year: 2011" and if the distribution happened January of this year? Just want to make sure.
