Multistate question

My husband and I lived (rented) in Virginia but worked in Washington, DC from September 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010. However, we own a home in Georgia where we lived since 2002. Since July 2010, I have collected unemployment from Washington, DC and my husband has worked and payed taxes in Belize, Central America where we both currently live. We maintain permanent residency in Georgia. For 2009, we filed in both Georgia and Virginia but not DC.

In addition to our federal return, which state returns are we required to file? Should we use our Georgia address or Belize address on our returns? Is my husband required to report income earned in another country if he has to pay taxes here?

I know I will need to file and extension and seek professional tax assistance, but we are not sure which states we have to file an extension in?

State Taxes

I live in Washington, for a company from California and work in Oregon. Should my employer have been taking state taxes out of my payroll

#1;so your spouse ‘s home state is GA, as he worked in D.C. and are a full resident of other state, GA, he do not have to pay D.C. income taxes on his wages aslongas he submited exemption Form D-4A to his employer.es. as there is no Reciprocal Agreements between GA an Virginia you need to file your return on your income that you earned in Virginia as a non resident of Virginia and claim the tax paid to Virginia on your GA return.

#2;GAas its way your home state at that time fro 2009/2010 returns UNLESS you moved to ZBelize before 2009 or 2010.anyway when did you move to Belize??
#3;it depends; aslongas he is a US citizen/resident, then yes .if not I mean if he is a non resident alien then no.

#4;as mentioned above.
