How can you check the status of your tax refund?
Per the IRS, a taxpayer can check on the status of their 2007 tax refund 72 hours after the tax return has been has been e-filed or about four weeks after paper mailing the tax return.
In order to check the status of the tax refund, a taxpayer will need the following:
- their social security number,
- filing status,&
- the exact whole dollar amount of your refund to use these applications.

Taxpayers can go to the IRS.gov Web site and click on the “Where’s My Refund” link available from the home page. Follow the instructions that require you to input the above information.
