Lost NJ return check from 2007

Was finally clearing out those misc boxes leftover after a move and I found a NJ Income tax return check from 2007. I went online and found the instructions on how to get it reissued. Unfortunately as quickly as I found the check it was lost again. I tried calling the number on the NJ IRS webpage but no matter what prompts I followed I always end up with a recording that says check out of webpage for detailed instructions.

I can't find any instructions for losing a past years check and getting it reissued without the check. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

“I can't find any instructions for losing a past years check and getting it reissued without the check. “-------> I guess you can call the NJ DOR to request that the original refund be voided and a new refund be issued. And you need to follow the Reissue Process. You can start the refund check reissue process by signing an refund reissue letter. They will tell you where to send it to have it reissued.State departments of revenue, like the IRS, are holding on to billions in unclaimed state tax refunds as well. Every state handles this missing money in a different manner, but like the federal government, there is a limit to how far back an unclaimed refund can go before the money reverts to the state.Ylou need to go to your state's website, click on the link related to tax refund status, and follow the system's prompts to learn about policies for claiming lost refunds. Refunds from the federal government expire after three years, and different states have different expiration times, so acting immediately is crucial for getting abandoned checks.
