“ . . . but received a 1099-MISC for the monthly truck allowance I receive. So, it looks like I have to also file a Schedule C for being self-employed, even though I am not. “======>It depends; unless you incur other deductible expenses for the 1099, you can report it on 1040 line 21;however, as long as you have deductible expenses, you need to repot it on Sch C/ Sch SE as long as the amount on Sch C line 29/31 is $400 or exceeds $400 or as long as the amount on Sch SE line 2/ 3 is also $400 or exceeds $400.
OR you can report the auto related biz exp on Sch C lines 9 and 24.
* This was on Line 7 of 1099 $6000
* How do I file this so I can deduct all my expenses?... Gasoline, Mileage, Vehicle Repairs, Tires, oil, etc.... & therefore "break even" so that I don't have to pay taxes on this $6000.”========>You need to report $6K on 1099 line 7 on Sch C line 1 PART 1 and yto may report $6K on Sch C line 7a other exp to break even.Then as the amount on Sch C line 29 is $0 , you do not need to file Sch SE or no SECA tax .
