as an ER hiring ab EE, You need to file a W2 form for the EE for whom you pay wage or withhold income, fica tax. The IRS requires you to file electronically if you have 250 or more W2 forms to file. You need to send a W2 form, copy b, c, to each EE no later than Jan 31 2014 for 2013 tax year;send copy A o SSA by the end of Feb 2014 , not to the IRS.
Unless you ate a trade/biz you actually do not necessarily file 1009 for yourclients ;however, if you are biz paying independent contractors, royalties or other non-employee workers, then you must file a 1099 for independent contractors including many service providers including attorneys, accountants, and etc. so, form 1099 takes the place of form W-2 in regard to reporting income to many people.aslongas when your trade /biz has issued a 1099-MISC to a client , you must send the IRS the Form 1096/ a copy of 1099 summary.as a biz/trade, You do not need to report payments made to corps for services, except for payments to corporations that provide legal or medical services.
