#3;OK, I do work from home in WI for perhaps 20% of the time. But my company doesn't want to declare WI as a state they operate in, so I can't claim WI as my home work state. Does ANYONE have any ideas to help me get some deductions???
Thanks!!!!!!

#1;correct in your case however, it depends; Travel expenses are the ordinary and necessary expenses of traveling away from home for your business, profession, or job. Generally, you, as an EE, can deduct these expenses using Form 2106 or Form 2106-EZ and on Form 1040, Sch A. You are traveling away from home if your duties require you to be away from the general area of your tax home for a period substantially longer than an ordinary day's work, and you need to get sleep or rest to meet the demands of your work while away. Generally, your tax home is the entire city or general area where your main place of business or work is located, regardless of where you maintain your family home. For example, you live with your family in CA but work in NYS where you stay in a hotel and eat in restaurants. You return to CA every weekend. You may not deduct any of your travel, meals, or lodging in NYS because that is your tax home. Your travel on weekends to your family home in CA is not for your work, so these expenses are also not deductible. If you regularly work in more than one place, your tax home is the general area where your main place of business or work is located
#2;as mentioned above. I don't believe you can deduct unless you are actually doing a full move to CA;as said your tax home is where you work and if you were temporarily assigned, or work in another location as an EE, however in your case yor tax home is CA., not WI so yo can’t.
#3; however, in WI where there is your tax home, you can deduct expenses for travelling from your office to where you perform work-related tasks.you can deduct a trip from my home office to a customer's location even if you cannot deduct a trip from your home to your work in WI. please contact the irs for more info indetail.
