I Made a Mistake

I recently filed my taxes and noticed after e-filing that the amount entered under Jury Duty Pay should have been entered under Alimony Received. The return has already been accepted, and although it does not affect the amount of the return, I need to know how to correct this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

corectNo change in your tax liability ;as either jury duty pay or alimony received is reported in line 36 so aslongas the amount is same the amount reported in line 36 is exactly same. So, no 1040x needs to be filed. Also, unless it impacts your state return, no 1040x required. You should file an amended tax return if you need to correct any piece of information that will alter your tax calculations. You can use an amended return to make corrections to your filing status, dependents, income, deductions, or tax credits.
